Let's start our Global Scholars lesson... are you ready?
For these lessons, create a 3-minute video about:
- Our class and school.
- Our favourite places in our city.
- The foods of our city and how they represent our culture.
- What it means to be a Global Scholar.
STEP 1. BRAINSTORMING
Write down your thoughts, then discuss the questions below with your class.
1. What does it mean to be a Global Scholar?
2. What areas in your school and city will you show in your video? What will you say about them?
3. What foods, markets, or restaurants will you show in your video? What will you say about them?
4. How do these foods represent your city’s culture?
STEP 2. MAKE A PLAN
What will happen at the beginning, middle, and end of your video? Write a script or create a storyboard to organize your ideas. Use the space below or your own paper to record your plan.
STEP 3. CREATE AND REVISE

▢ Record one 2-3-minute video.
▢ Make it exciting! Shoot the video from different angles and locations.
▢ Show us around your school and city!
After you record, watch the video with your class:
▢ Is it easy to understand the speakers?
▢ Did you include information about our school, our city, and the foods of our city?
▢ What might make it easier for your international peers to understand?
STEP 4. SHARE
When you are finished creating your video, share it in the e-classroom. As a class, work together to write an introduction to your video. Your teacher will post your introduction and video on the Meet the Global Scholars! page in the e-classroom.
Later, watch the videos created by your international peers at home!.
And that's all folks! See you next time!! 😎
